  • I agreed that a "captain" is important but I am very hesitant to go to the common church model today where one man is the face of the church e.g. Rick Warren at Saddleback, Ray McCauley at Rhema.

    If we agree that we need a strong "captain" what does this mean for BBC?
    1) Must this person be a pastor?
    2) Must they be a fulltime staff member?
    3) Do they need to lead the leadership team only or must they been seen as the leader by the congregation?
    4) Must they preach on a regular basis?
    5) Can anybody suggest an candidates?
